God is awesome! The Worship Team leads the congregation in celebrating the goodness and greatness of God. This team is made up of musicians and vocalists who lead the worship time during both services on Sunday and also special services such as Christmas Eve. They meet once a week to practice for the upcoming service. They are always looking for servants with heart and skill who are willing to offer their gifts through music to assist in worship. Scheduling and assignments are currently handled through the Church Office. Please call if you would like to share your talent through music.
A picture is worth a thousand words! Most of us are not primarily auditory learners. The Media Ministry provides pictures to encourage us in glorifying God during worship. The graphics during the sermon help us remember key points as the Holy Spirit convicts, comforts and teaches us. Our media team serves on a rotation basis throughout the month. If you would like to be a part of this ministry of encouragement, we have talented willing leaders who would love to teach you what you need to know about PowerPoint and our EasyWorship programs. Please call to speak with Donna Hill through the Church Office.
Can you hear me now? During our worship services on Sunday mornings and various other weekly programs, we have a very capable team of sound technicians who operate the sound equipment to provide quality sound. These trained volunteers operate the sound board, monitor the equipment to maintain quality sound, and duplicate services and programs onto CD's upon request. Each member serves on a rotating schedule for Sunday services and for other church meetings such as funerals, weddings, programs, and seminars. If you enjoy working with electronic equipment with a team, here is an opportunity for you. Contact Ben Hill through the Church Office if you have any questions or are willing to serve!
Everybody needs a hug! Well, some people prefer a handshake. The Welcome Team speaks for all of us each Sunday morning: Greeting visitors, offering a hug, answering questions, and helping people find classrooms for their children. Each visitor gets a Welcome Packet which includes a map of our facility as well as information about opportunities and some ways to get connected here at Jerome Prairie. If you want to help us reach out to those who come here looking for a place to be known and loved, there is opportunity here for you. Craig & Cindy Pear head up this team of volunteers. Let us know if this spot is a good fit for you!
Greeting people is important! Our ushers reflect the love of Jesus Christ by greeting each person who comes through the door on Sunday mornings, special services, and memorial services. They pass out bulletins and assist people by providing information and guidance about our church such as directions of our facility and programs (Children's Progrm / Nursery). They also encourage and assist the pastor, worship team, sound technicians, Children's Program leaders in various ways. If you love meeting people and enjoy helping to brighten someone's day, take a look at participating in this ministry.
Jesus told us to remember! The Communion Team is responsible for arranging for the Lord's Supper each Sunday. Practicing what Jesus said about being a servant, they believe that preparing communion is a gift to the Lord and to the family here at Jerome Prairie. If you would like to follow Christ's example and glorify Him with your service, we have room for you in this ministry. Please call the Church Office with any questions.
Don't you just love those babies! The nursery staff, aptly headed by Diana Porter, is a dedicated group of people who work together to keep our smallest members safe, fed and dry. They allow parents uninterupted time to worship and listen to the teaching by Pastor James. If you haven't gotten your regular baby fix, talk to Diana about joining our team of dedicated nursery staff.
Does anyone not need prayer? We all walk in the doors of the church with different needs and pain each Sunday. The Sunday Prayer Team is made up of people who believe that our Great Shepherd and Counselor can supply everything we need for every situation we face. They desire to share the comfort and truth of God and pray for the family's needs. If you are a person who has experience God's provision and comfort, and desire to pray with those seeking God's intervention, we have a place for you on the Sunday prayer team.
We offer prayer before and after the Sunday service each week. We also come together every other Friday at 3:00 PM in the Worship Center for intercessory prayer. Check out the church calendar for dates.
